American defensive linemen Keion Adams and Freddie Bishop III have signed contracts with the Saskatchewan Roughriders , the CFL team announced Tuesday.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Adams, 25, was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round (248th overall) of the 2017 NFL draft. Most recently, Adams played in four pre-season games with the New York Giants in 2019, registering one sack, one fumble recovery and one defensive tackle.
Previously, Adams excelled at the University of Western Michigan, registering 126 tackles (including 33 for a loss), 15 sacks, four forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries in 44 games, spanning four seasons. He had 18 tackles for a loss as a senior.
Also from Western Michigan is Bishop III, 30, a 6-foot-3, 255-pounder who played in 18 games with the 2019 Toronto Argonauts, recording 40 defensive tackles and six sacks in 18 games.
He also played in 29 regular-season games with the Calgary Stampeders from 2013 to 2015. In 2015, he had 11 sacks in 17 games.
The Roughriders also announced Tuesday that American linebacker Matthew Thomas has opted back into his contract.
